AIPAS weekly mani featuring Emily de Molly

28/03/2014

Last weeks AIPAS (Australian Indie Polish Appreciation Society)’s theme was polishes starting with N or W. I thought it was the perfect opportunity to use my Emily de Molly polish called “Where boys fear to tread”.

In light box

It’s a beautiful pink holographic polish that applies like a dream. This is two coats with China Glaze Ridge Filling base coat and Glisten and Glow HK Girl Top Coat.

Artificial light

It is beautiful on it’s own but I decided to borrow my mums Cirque Colors polish called Alter Ego. It is a holographic polish with tiny glitters in it too. I bought this polish for my mum from Femme Fatale Cosmetics, where you can also get Glisten and Glow.

To make the zebra print, I used Nail Vinyls. They were tricky to get stuck on because each stripe stuck to the next but I got there eventually with some help from my boyfriend. When using them, make sure you take the stencil off straight away, as you can pull all the polish off if you let it dry too much. Also make sure the polish is dry before putting top coat on. I have smudged so many mani’s because I was too impatient with the top coat.

Natural light

I think Where Boys Fear To Tread is the perfect pink with a strong holographic effect. The Cirque polish, Alter Ego, will look great as a full mani too. Is this your favourite holographic pink or do you have another I should also try?
Love, Alinta
