The What’s In-die Box theme for January 2015 is True Love, just in time for Valentine’s Day. When I saw the theme for this box I knew I had to get it; pink and hearts are so down my alley.
Before I begin the review, I just want to make something clear. I write these posts as a review. To me a review should be an honest opinion on whatever the post is about. I recently saw a post from someone saying they didn’t like seeing blogs “bagging” the What’s In-die Boxes. When I write negative reviews about these boxes, I don’t enjoy it, but it is a necessity to me. I would hate to rave about a product and then have someone buy it and find out that it isn’t actually that great. I love indie brands and count some of the makers as friends, so I do find it hard to write the negative points, but that is what a review is. I can not, and will not post positive reviews on everything, that defeats the point of blogging to me. Integrity and honesty are really important to me, so I want to ensure that my blog is seen in that way too. I will write a big blog post soon about honesty in the nail world so stay tuned for that – not everything is as it seems.
Anyway onto the box, I think the True Love What’s In-die Box is my favourite one ever. Just be aware that this is a picture heavy post so that you can see the polishes in different lights.

Lilypad Lacquer Love of my Life macro bottle shot |
Lilypad Lacquer Love of my Life is a red micro glitter with some green and gold micro glitters thrown into the mix. This is a heavily packed micro glitter so can be made opaque in two coats. The application is really easy too. Love of my Life is so sparkly in the sunshine, it is definitely the polish that will stand out. I like the inclusion of the other colours as it makes the polish more complex. The colour is still overwhelmingly red though so it can easily be worn on Valentine’s Day.

Inspiration image for Peita’s Polish Puppy Love |
Peita’s Polish Puppy Love is my favourite polish from this box. It is a light pink crelly with a wide range of pink and red glitters including pink and red hearts. I haven’t had the best run with Peita’s Polishes in recent boxes but this polish had no application problems and became opaque in 2-3 coats. I did three coats of Puppy Love as I like the look of the glitters just poking though from lower layers. I have also tried one layer over a pink creme base (not pictured) and it looks good that way too. I also love the inclusion of the micro holographic glitters that light up in the sunshine. I had to include another picture of the inspiration for this polish because it’s Dachshunds and hearts – so cute! It’s my favourite inspiration picture out of all the boxes. I hope to wear this polish before Valentine’s Day so check back for that.

Glam Polish Violet Be Mine |
Glam Polish Violet Be Mine is a beautiful purple holographic micro glitter polish. I am so in love with this colour, I will wear it all year round, not just for Valentine’s Day. As with all Glam holographic polishes, it has a great formula and is opaque in two coats. When dry, Violet Be Mine is slightly textured but is easily evened out with a coat of HK Girl Top Coat. You have to see this little beauty in the sunshine as that’s where it comes alive. You can see the sparkle in the macro bottle shot. I can’t wait to use this polish in a whole mani, I won’t want to take it off.

Fox and Owl Polish I Love You |
Fox and Owl I Love You is a bright pink jelly with silver, white and pink glitters. I swatched this polish as it looked a bit transparent on the swatch stick. It ended up being fine, being opaque with three coats on the nail. The formula was easy to work with and there was no need for dabbing the glitters on. My swatching wasn’t fantastic but that’s my health and not the polish’s fault. The amount of glitter in this is perfect; the nail doesn’t look overloaded when the glitters from the lower layers peak through. I also love the inclusion of the purple micro glitter. They sparkle in the sunshine and then create a purple cast when the polish is in the shade.
What do you think of the True Love What’s In-die Box? I love it and hope to see more boxes in future that have similar colours so that the polishes can be used together. Next month (February) is a Cocktail themed box but it is an all holo box again so I wont be getting or reviewing that one. Hopefully March has a great theme like this one. You can buy each months What’s In-die Box from Peita’s Polish.
