Happy St Patrick’s Day! I have an Irish ancestry and certainly Irish skin but other than that I don’t know much about Ireland. But I have spent many years looking for a four leaf clover, so of course I had to put one on my nails for St Pats Day.
I started with Glam Polish Nicest Kids In Town and You & Me (But Mostly Me) as an accent on the middle finger. Nicest Kids In Town is a green holographic polish but there was no sun so I couldn’t capture the holo properly. You & Me (But Mostly Me) is a pretty gold glitter polish. Both polishes were opaque in two coats and had a great formula like all Glam Polishes.
To give the mani a St Patrick’s Day twist I used the clover vinyls from She Sells Sea Shells UK. This time I tried using a sponge to sponge on You & Me (But Mostly Me). The sponge seems to stop any excess polish from going under the vinyl which happens sometimes when I just paint the polish straight over the vinyl. I did miss filling one of the four leaf clover leaves but I’ll know to look for that next time I use a sponge. I really love how the thumb turned out. The gold glitter looks so pretty over the green.

What have you got on your nails for St Patrick’s Day?

What a gorgeous mani. I just adore the combination of colours, and the four leaf and three leaf clovers. I'll have to check out the vinyls you mention and see if I can get some. I've been looking everywhere for St Patrick's Day nail art, but only ended up finding a few in the USA, which I bought, but which didn't arrive here in Tasmania in time to wear yesterday. I am wearing green nails (Sinful Colors "HD Nails") with gold glitter (ulta3 "pot of gold") on all but my index fingers. I quilted the index nails using gold striping tape and gold round decals. Something was seriously wrong with the combination of polishes, base coat and top coat though, because the mani took over 24 hours to completely dry, and overnight in bed some of the nail polish got all scrunched up on my nails. I was sooooooo disappointed, but I didn't have time to change it, so I'm still wearing it. Will have to change it tomorrow, though.
Thanks for sharing your ideas and reviews, and inspiring all us newbies and nail art fanatics.
Thank you for the lovely comment. I've found She Sells Sea Shells seems to get here from the uk quicker than any american ones. The ones I do get from America are from Vinyl Boutique. I have had issue with one of the USA stockists but most seem to post in a timely manner, it's just the silly slow post.
Your mani sounds pretty. I usually use HK Girl top coat as I've never had the non drying issue with that but I have with others, it's very annoying. Haha, I still class myself as a newbie even though I've been blogging for a year 😛 still lots to improve on that's for sure 🙂
