Hair Talk

01/04/2015

Firstly, I’m sorry for the lapse in posts. My health has taken a turn for the worse over the last few weeks. I can’t figure out why but hopefully I start to improve soon. My posts may still be a but sporadic for the time being as I am also emotionally drained. A few days ago my beloved cat Bob passed away. I had him from the day he was born as he was the baby of a stray we took in. I knew that I loved him as soon as I saw him at a couple of hours old. He was the sweetest cat who loved everyone and everyone loved him. Rest in peace bobby, you will always be loved.

Ten years ago – Bob and I when he was just a couple of hours old
Bob. Always Loved.

Sorry for the downer but I thought I had to explain it all. Now onto the point of the post – hair. My hair to be exact. I finally plucked up the courage to get a big hair cut. My hair was down to my belly button, so a Lob (long bob) is a major change for me. I got 11 inches of hair off and it has been donated to Pantene Beautiful Lengths. Beautiful Lengths make free real hair wigs for women who have lost their hair from cancer treatment. I hope someone gets a lot of use out of my hair donation.
Hair Donation
Short hair is a massive change for me, the washing alone takes so much less time and energy. Now I’m on the hunt for hair products that suit shorter hair. I think I have found a good cruelty free leave in conditioner spray but I’m yet to find the right cruelty free shampoo and conditioner. I have suffered from hair loss due to Lyme Disease but with the help of biotin supplements I seem to be re-growing a lot of it. I’m so happy it’s re-growing but it means that I have a huge amount of baby fly away hairs that don’t seem to be tamed by anything.
New Hair

I’m happy with my change, it will certainly make hair care easier. Do you like my hair cut? And do you have any cruelty free hair care recommendations? I will try to review my favourite hair products on here for you all.
Love, Alinta

Love your hair both ways; you have great hair! What a fantastic gift to give! 🙂

Sorry to hear about Bob. That picture of you two is so cute. I think donating your hair rocks–it really looks thick looking at that ponytail holder! Mine's so thin, not by of Lyme but because of medication.

Thank you Lauren. I have a lot of hair but each piece is quite thin. I have certainly found that straight biotin supplements helped to kickstart re-growth for me. But if you're still on the medication it probably won't help much. I have learnt to do my hair in weird ways to cover up some of the hair loss, I'm sure you can relate 🙂
