New Australis Fresh and Flawless Powder

05/07/2015
I’m sorry for the lack of posts, my health has to come before blogging at the moment. Hopefully I can rest up now and start to blog more regularly.

Recently, Australis Cosmetics brought out new shades of their Fresh and Flawless Pressed Powder. The Fresh and Flawless compact can be used as a powder foundation or as a setting powder depending on how you use it. I have heard many people compare this product to Mac powders but I’ve never used Mac (animal testers), so I can’t make that comparison. What I can say though, is that this powder works great for me. I use it to set my liquid foundation and concealer. One swipe through the product with a powder brush gives enough powder to set the whole face. Australis are an Australian cruelty free brand who have a good range of vegan products (including this powder). Update 2016: Australis have now changed the website to say that this product is not vegan as it contains a genetically modified ingredient Aluminium Starch Octenylsuccinate. I researched this product and it doesn’t seem to be animal derived in any way so I still call it a vegan product.

For a long time, Australis only had three shades, natural, deep natural and darkest brown. They have now added light beige, nude and medium tan.

After hearing the hype about this product, I picked up their original lightest shade, natural, but it is too dark for my skin tone. The new lightest shade, light beige, is a much better match. I’m an NW15 in Mac (I got shade matched just for this) and usually the lightest shade in any other foundation. I’ve taken photos of the two shades next to each other but I wasn’t able to get any face shots as my phone camera can’t pick up the colour difference. I highly recommend this product, it stays on all day, is cruelty free, easy to get your hands on (as it is also available on the Australis website), and now there are more shades to match more people.

I thought I would also just let you all know that I found a mini Australis Make-up Finishing Spritz at Kmart. The original size that I purchased from Priceline is 150ml which is great for spritzing makeup in the morning but it’s far too big to take with me. This new 50ml size is perfect for putting in my bag and using to refresh my makeup during the day time.

Australis have been coming out with some great products lately. I have a few more to review so check back if you want to see what I think of the other products they have.

Love, Alinta

Are any of the new shades yellow based? While Darkest Brown was the correct shade for me the undertone was really pink so I couldn't use it. I'm nc30. I want a good alternative to the studio fix powder. They are super similar btw.

The new nude or medium tan could be your colour but you will have to go to Priceline to check. They have samples out unlike kmart so you can check to see if the shade matches you. I didn't really pay any attention to the darker shades so I can't be of much help, sorry.
