Today is Wear It Purple Day where we show support to all the young rainbow people out there. Wear It Purple is a non-profit organisation that is run by young people, for young people. They believe that every young person is unique, important and worthy of love, and that no one should be subject to bullying , belittlement and invalidation. They want a world in which every young person can thrive, irrelevant of sex, sexuality or gender identity. So here are my purple nails to show support for this great organisation and send love to all the young rainbow people out there.
I decided to use on of my favourite purple polishes which is Lorelei from Powder Perfect. Lorelei is a purple based polish that has lots of blue sparks and fuschia flakies that look gorgeous when in the light. On my ring finger, I used a base of Powder Perfect Sugar & Spice which I wrote about in my last post – Easy Mermaid Nail Art. Sugar & Spice is a lovely pink holographic polish with golden flakes – it is one of my very favourite polishes. I then used Lorelei and a heart nail stencil from What’s Up Nails to create the heart shape on my ring finger. I decided on doing a heart as I want all the young rainbow people out there to know that they are loved and that there are a lot of people who want them to be able to live the life that they want to live.
I screwed up this mani many times so it has taken me all day to get them done (nail polishing is a marathon not a sprint when you have the shakes), but I really wanted to get these up as I believe in this cause. Every rainbow young person should feel safe, supported and empowered in every situation and environment in life. I believe in a in a world where every young person can thrive, irrelevant of sex, sexuality or gender identity. Did you do Wear It Purple nails?
