Happy Valentine’s Day! I don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day, but I love all the nail art that is done for the occasion. My Instagram fills up with pink and hearts – two of my favourite things. So of course I had to do some cute Valentine’s Day heart nails too. I chose to do white hearts with sponging of various pinks around them. It’s the same idea behind my popular Pink Ribbon Day Nails that I know many have recreated for Valentine’s Day.

To create this mani I started with a base of Powder Perfect Turtledoves which has to be my most used polish as I love this off white for nail art and as a mani by itself. Then I placed some of the What’s Up Nails Open Heart Stencils on each finger and sponged a mix of pinks over the top. I used three shades of pink, Powder Perfect Search The Kingdom (pastel pink creme), Powder Perfect Principessa (mid toned pink creme with a delicate shimmer) and Pretty Serious Fluffykins (bubblegum pink creme). I randomly dabbed the colours on a damp sponge and then patted that on each nail, reapplying the nail polish colours onto the sponge between each application. I then removed the heart stencils on each nail before the nail polish was dry, which created nice crisp lines on the hearts.

Unfortunately the top coat I used smeared the colours together so they aren’t as distinct as they were, and the hearts now look a bit like they’re crying – so maybe this is supposed to be an anti-Valentine’s Day mani instead …

My health hasn’t been great lately, so these did take a while to complete as I battled with blurry vision and shakes, but I got there in the end. The intention was for this manicure to be pretty Valentine’s Day heart nails but the end result doesn’t look like I intended it to. It could be called pink watercolour nails for Valentine’s Day, or even crying hearts I guess? Hopefully my next nail art attempt will be more successful than this. Did you do anything to celebrate Valentine’s Day or do some nails for the occasion?

I love what you have done, it looks perfect, I have no idea how you make it look so clean and precise (especially if you have the shakes!?!), thats talent girl! A great tutorial! Xx

Thanks lovely. Half of my polishing time is spent with acetone and a clean up brush trying to wipe away all the excess polish from my cuticles lol – it takes forever because I get it everywhere haha
This is a lovely look!
Thank you <3
