I have a review of the Ere Perez Chamomile Eye Palette in Pretty and Rice Powder Blush and Bronzer in Roma for you today. Ere Perez is an Australian brand that focuses on creating cruelty free and natural, skincare, makeup and nail colours. They are accredited by choose cruelty free and all products are free from parabens, talc, petrolatum, lead, propylene glycol, BHT and BHA, DMDM hydantoin, nanoparticles, imidazolindinyl urea, parrafin, synthetic fragrances and mineral oil. Ere Perez uses “carefully selected premium quality ingredients (oils, plant extracts and minerals)” that are “blended with antioxidants to create a gentle, highly effective natural make-up solution”.

Ere Perez have 4 eyeshadow palettes in their Chamomile Eye Palette collection. There’s Pretty – described as including vintage luxe shades, Lovely – described as containing neutral easy to wear shades, Gorgeous – which contains earthy tones, and Beautiful – described as being able to take you from day to night. Each palette contains 6 eyeshadow pans that can be replaced with single refills when any particular colour is used up. The eyeshadow palettes retail for A$40 and each single refill is A$15.Ere Perez were kind enough to send me the Pretty palette to review for you. The Chamomile Eye Palette in Pretty contains 6 shades – Liz, Katiana, Bonnie, Pausha, Gaby and Sarai. Ere Perez describe Liz as being a banana split colour, in person it is more like an Ivory colour with yellow undertones that has a shimmery finish. Liz doesn’t show up well on my skin as it is almost my skin colour but it is just light enough that I can use it as a nice subtle highlight and it will be the perfect brow and inner corner highlight for anyone darker than me (so pretty much everyone). Katiana is described as being a grey brown which is pretty accurate. I was expecting Katiana to be a matte shade but it has a small amount of shimmer to it making it slightly more shimmery than a satin shade would be, despite this, it still works well as a transition shade. Bonnie is described as being a dusty peach which is almost, but not quite how I see it. The base of Bonnie is a warm champagne but the pink shimmer makes it look like a light peach in the light. It is far more peach on the skin than it is in the pan making it a beautiful shade. Bonnie is a shimmery shade that is going to get the best pay off when applied with fingers or a wet brush. Pausha is described as being a frosted warm coral and the base shade of it is a warm peachy coral but it has a strong orange shift to it in the light which makes it come to life. The shift is so strong that you can see it in the pan too, but it’s even more beautiful on the skin. Pausha is a shimmery shade like Bonnie that is going to work best when applied with a finger or a wet brush. Gaby is described as being a coppery brown which is pretty accurate but it has the same sort of shimmer that Bonnie has so it appears warmer when the shimmer catches the light. Serai is described as being an eggplant shade and when in the pan it does look like that, but it is a brighter purple once applied to the skin.I thought it was going to be a really dark eggplant/plum by the shade in the pan but it is a much brighter, almost approaching an orchid shade. Serai is one of the more matte shades in the palette but it still does have a slight shimmer to it. You can see how the colours apply with both fingers and a brush in my swatches, both times I used theBalm lid primer as I would never wear eyeshadow without a primer, so I see no point in swatching it that way – I do need to find a good eco-friendly and natural eye primer soon though.

The Chamomile eyeshadow palettes contain chamomile oil as it has calming and soothing properties which make it perfect for sensitive eyes. The Ere Perez Pretty Chamomile eyeshadow palette contains native rice (Oryza sativa) starch, mica, calcium silicate, caprylic / capric triglyceride, triheptanoin, chamomile (Matricaria recutita) oil, carnauba (Copernicia cerifera) wax, tocopherol (Vitamin E), potassium sorbate and may contain CI 77891 titanium dioxide. It doesn’t contain potentially irritating ingredients like talc and carmine so it’s perfect for sensitive and my eyelid eczema. I love eyeshadow but I don’t use it anywhere near as often as I want to as my eye eczema reacts so easily to products, so I’m glad I have a sensitive skin friendly eyeshadow option. The eyeshadows aren’t the most pigmented that I have tried but they do make lovely subtle eye looks and can be ramped-up if you use setting spray on your brush beforehand. The palette doesn’t come with a brush, which I’m happy with as shading brushes in eyeshadow palettes are never worth using. Ere Perez do make eyeshadow brushes that you can buy separately. They are all double ended which makes them good for travel and are made with biodegradable ingredients and vegan bristles. I have the Eco Vegan Line and Blend brush but there is also a Eco Vegan Smudge and Shade Brush. As I don’t have the shading brush I actually used the Ere Perez Vegan Lip and Conceal Brush to apply to eyeshadows to the eyelid which worked just as well as my other vegan shading brushes. I tested all shadows with both the Ere Perez brush and my normal vegan eye brush to make sure that I was getting an accurate picture of how the eyeshadows applied. Bonnie and Pausha are the hardest to apply but they are also my favourite shades and I don’t mine using a wet brush or fingers for pretty shades. I was surprised that there were no matte shades in the palette. You can get a full eye look by using Katiana in the crease, a shimmer on the lid and Gaby to darken the corner with Liz as a highlight, but I will typically be pairing this palette with a matte palette too as I really do like having the shimmer on the lid and not in the crease. This palette is however a great size for travel or to just put in a bag for touch ups during the day and I would tend to only touch up the shimmer and not the mattes so it would work well that way.

Ere Perez makes two bronzers, Tulum, meant to create a golden glow, and Roma a blush and bronzer combined, both are supposed to be suitable for all skin shades. I have Roma to share with you today. The Ere Perez Rice Powder Blush and Bronzer in Roma contains 9 g of product and retails for A$42. It comes in a sleek white compact with inset mirror for easy application on the go. Roma is a split pan product, so there is a different colour on either side of the pan, each colour can be used separately or they can be mixed together and used that way too. This is a multitasking powder that can be used on the cheeks for contour, bronzer or blush, as well as on the eyes and lips. I love the idea of this product and how versatile it is but it just isn’t a product I can use for bronzer, contour or blush as it’s just far too dark and orange for me. I have swatched it next to other bronzers in my collection so that you can see how it compares. I recently reviewed theBalm’s Oliver bronzer that is a good shade for me, which you can see if a very different shade to Roma. I think Roma will be a good shade for people with a tan and it’s got a beautifully smooth texture, but it just doesn’t suit me.

The Ere Perez Eco Vegan Blush and Bronze brush came with the bronzer. so I tried it out with products that are suitable for me skin tone. It is nice and soft and a really good shape to apply brush. I like to use really big fluffy brushes for bronzer as I need to diffuse it so much on my fair skin, but if I had darker skin, it would work well for that purpose too. The handle is smaller than other brushes with the same bristle length and fullness, which makes it another great brush for travel. All the Ere Perez brushes are perfect for travelling with.

I really love to support brands that on’t test on animals but are also environmentally friendly. I don’t tend to buy many eyeshadow palettes as I always run out of my favourite shades and then I won’t use the rest of the shades without them. So being able to buy replacement single eyeshadows to put into a palette is a great idea from Ere Perez. The shades in the Chamomile Eye Palette in Lovely go together nicely. They’re not the most pigmented shades I’ve tried but they do make beautiful, more subtle looks. I really love the look of the shades in the Lovely palette but Beautiful and Gorgeous would be so useful too. These shades aren’t going to be suitable for a bold Instagram eye look, which is something I never do anyway, so it’s fine with me. The eyeshadow palettes are small enough to travel with and the brushes are great for travel too. My favourite part though, is that the eyeshadows are made for sensitive skin as I want to wear eyeshadow more often, it’s just so hard when most eyeshadows do contain irritating ingredients. The split pan of the Ere Perez Rice Powder Blush and Bronzer in Roma is such a great idea. I would love to have a shade with a bronzer colour I could actually use on one side and a pink or peach blush on the other side. For those of you with darker skin than mine, this could work really well for you. If you use this and it works for your skin tone, let me know in the comments. I really like Ere Perez as a brand. Every product is packaged so well and the time spent on getting the ingredients and formulas right really shows. I know they’re a smaller brand and therefore can’t release the bronzer shade ranges that other brands do, but I am happy to enjoy the products that do work for my skin tone. Ere Perez also make skincare and nail products. You can check out my review of the Blue Cypress Face Nectar that I wrote. I’ll have a review of a nail polish and a couple more face products from Ere Perez coming soon. When I get a chance I really want to try their Carrot Colour Pot cream blush in Harmony, the Olive Oil Lipsticks and the Lovely eye palette. If you want to buy anything from Ere Perez then you can go to the Ere Perez website or you can purchase from Nourished Life or Flora and Flora (they’re both affiliate links – using my affiliate links helps me to keep this blog running).
