Eye Of Horus Bio Lipsticks Review

08/08/2018

Today is a shorter post as I want to share with you my favourite lipstick formula. The Eye Of Horus Bio Lipsticks are cruelty free, vegan and 98% natural. The Goddess Bio Lipsticks are packaged in eco friendly, recyclable and biodegradable packaging. Eye Of Horus Cosmetics are one of my favourite brands as they’re Australian, cruelty free and make products that are amazing quality. You can read my blog posts on other Eye Of Horus Cosmetics – Eye Of Horus Cosmetics Goddess Pencil Review and Eye Of Horus Brow Define Review. You can buy the Eye Of Horus Bio Lipsticks in selected retailers, on the Eye Of Horus website and from Flora and Fauna (affiliate – affiliate links don’t cost you anything but do help me to continue running this blog).

The Eye Of Horus Bio Lipsticks are very pigmented, and have a creamy formula that doesn’t sink into fine lines or dry out my lips. They dry down to a stain-like finish after a couple of hours of wear, so they don’t ever appear to be patchy and are really easy to reapply. The lipsticks contain “nourishing bio active ingredients” and “a naturally sourced marine botanical that promotes nourishment to the lip tissues for a plumping effect”. The marine botanical is Dictyoperis Oil which is made from sea algae. The lipsticks also contain Sunflower Oil, Castor Oil and Olive Oil with added vitamin C for hydration. Candelilla Wax and Carnauba Wax are included to create the creamy finish.

The range includes 6 shades at the moment. Artemis Nude, Inanna Honey, Venus Pink, Cleo Plum, Freya Rose and Aurora Peach. I always forget the full names and just tend to call them by the colour name, like pink and plum. I own three of the colours, Pink, Honey and Plum. Pink is my favourite as I love pink lip colours but all three are beautiful. The next on my list to get is Rose. Peach and Nude are a bit too warm for my very fair pink skin so I would love to see the shade range expanded – a nude pink would be perfect for me. I went to my local stockist and swatched all 6 colours so that you could see how they compare.

Eye Of Horus have shown sneak peaks of products they will be releasing soon. One product is a lip liner (which I’m really excited about) and the other seems to be another lipstick formula called velvet lips – I really hope they’re like the bio lipsticks when it comes to moisturisation and appearance with lip lines.

Update – Eye Of Horus have also released a red Bio Lipstick called Vesta Red.

If I’m going to wear a lipstick I automatically reach for my Eye Of Horus Bio Lipsticks. I’ve found it really hard to find a creamy formula that doesn’t accentuate dryness or fine lines, but the Bio Lipsticks don’t do that. The lipsticks eventually dry down to a stain like effect, so they never look patchy, and they are really easy to reapply over the top of what’s already there. The eco friendly packaging really makes these cruelty free and vegan lipsticks stand out to me. I love buying products from brands that care about both the animals and the environment. If you haven’t tried the Eye Of Horus Bio Lipsticks, you really should. Everyone I know that has tried them loves them too. You can find stockists that have samples to swatch on the Eye Of Horus website. You can also buy the products online directly from there, or you can buy them from Flora and Fauna (affiliate). Have you tried the Eye Of Horus Bio Lipsticks? Are they something you want to try soon? Which shade is your favourite?

Love, Alinta
